Chapin, South Carolina Wins 2019 Dire States Grant for East Chapin Sewer Force Main Project

CASE Construction Equipment has awarded the $25,000 Dire States Equipment Grant to Chapin, South Carolina for the East Chapin Sewer Force Main Project. The project will install a new parallel force main to relieve pressures in the service area on the existing sewer force main and pump stations. The additional force main will provide capacity to reroute sewer flow to significantly reduce the likelihood of future overflows that may affect the drinking water of approximately 130,000 drinking water customers in area.

The CASE Dire States Grant gives Chapin $25,000 in free equipment rental for the project through local CASE dealer Hills Machinery. The project will also mitigate other storm- and wastewater challenges for the municipality, and create more capacity for additional business development in the town. Bidding on the project will take place in the next few months, with work expected to begin later in 2019.

CASE Dealer ASCO Donates Equipment to Help Team Rubicon and SBP Rebuild Home Devastated by Fire, Hurricane Harvey Flooding

CASE Construction Equipment dealer ASCO recently provided a TR310 compact track loader and CX130D excavator to disaster recovery nonprofits Team Rubicon and project leader SBP. The equipment was used for demolition work before SBP could rebuild a Houston home that first was burnt to the ground then flooded during Hurricane Harvey.

Asha Ramraj and her husband first purchased the home in 2002. Together with their children, the Ramraj’s worked on making it a home. Years later, in 2015 the home burned to the ground, leaving only the laundry room intact. Ramraj’s husband passed away shortly after, leaving her alone to shoulder the burden of rebuilding while she lived in what remained of her home. Then in 2017, what was left of the Ramraj’s home was flooded during Hurricane Harvey.
