CASE shares sneak peeks of EV lineup to provide public works teams a glimpse of what’s to come
CASE Construction Equipment will preview models from its new electric vehicle (EV) line in booth 523 at the PWX Conference in San Diego, California, August 27-30, 2023. CASE experts will be hosting walkarounds on three models – the CX15EV electrified mini excavator, which is available now, as well as the CX25EV mini excavator and CL36EV electrified compact wheel loader, both of which are show sneak peeks that will launch in 2024.
“Our approach to our new EV models is the same as every other CASE machine since 1842 — to meet the changing needs of our customers through practical innovation that help them get more done easier and more profitably than ever before,” says Terry Dolan, vice president, North America, CASE Construction Equipment. “EV products serve the needs of communities and the municipal and public works teams who must complete a wide range of on-budget projects with as little residential and environmental impact as possible, such as low noise or no emissions.”
With the same power and performance as diesel-powered machines, new CASE EV equipment is easy to charge, transport and service, maximizing value by setting up teams for success across a broad range of jobs. These compact models provide distinct benefits that align with evolving municipal needs, including lower total cost of ownership, zero on-site carbon emissions and quiet operation.
“Our CASE dealer network has been investing in the EV infrastructure, tooling, PPE and training required to ensure the hip-pocket support customers rely on to stay productive,” says Bob Nute, electrification specialist, CASE. “With more than 325 locations in the U.S. and Canada, the CASE dealer network offers a great footprint of service, which now expands into electric equipment.”
“The new CASE EV line of construction equipment provides public works teams options as they look to gain the benefits of electrification and reach sustainability goals,” says Aaric Lewis, government channels sales manager at CASE. ”Plus, through our partnership with Sourcewell, government and municipal organizations can realize remarkable savings and efficiency gains.”
CASE EV models further benefit public works projects as they:
- Are compatible with more than 140 attachments, allowing teams to efficiently and precisely accomplish the task at hand
- Produce no emissions and far less sound than diesel equipment, which can cause less disturbance, improve job safety and extend operating hours
- Help meet environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals and environmental regulations
- Have fewer parts to service than their diesel counterparts, significantly simplifying service and reducing maintenance time and costs over the life of the machine
“CASE began engineering EV equipment in 2020 when a utility company approached us about their desire for an electric backhoe. The result was CASE debuting the construction industry’s first fully electric backhoe,” says Brad Stemper, North American construction equipment product management lead at CASE. “During that collaboration, we listened to their real-world application requirements and became ingenuity obsessed with improving EV machine design and performance to meet them. The new CASE EV line is built on the advancements gained through that experience and others — continuous innovation based on operator feedback and proven operation in the field.”
Show attendees can discover more about electric vehicle designs, functions and needs at a manufacturer presentation Tuesday, August 29, at 9:45 a.m., in Room 30 AB. CASE Electrification Specialist Bob Nute will be one of the experts discussing the lineup of electric equipment, requirements for charging systems and preventive maintenance.
“CASE continues to operate like a 180-year startup and our EV journey demonstrates this,” says Dolan. “Together, CASE and our incredible North American dealer network show every day that no one will outwork us in earning our customers’ trust and helping their organizations and businesses thrive.” To learn more about CASE at the PWX Conference, visit booth 523.
