The Art & Function of Snow Removal

Landmark Landscapes’ focus on building functional and aesthetic environments extends into snow removal operations.

Landmark Landscapes of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin was originally envisioned as a lifestyle company focused on landscape and the art of horticulture. “The business was started in 1990 by my parents. They ran it until 2014, as a lifestyle business that allowed them to pursue their passion for gardening and horticulture, dabbling in snow removal only when necessary,” says Jesse Majerus, owner and director of operations for Landmark Landscapes. “The passion was in the horticulture behind it. And my brother Joe and I saw an opportunity for serious growth.”

Since then, Jesse and Joe Majerus have grown the business dramatically — developing the systems and business processes to become a year-round business with a focus on commercial maintenance and snow removal. “We had early success building a strong foundation of hardscape and fantastic design/build projects,” Jesse says. “But we’ve really grown the maintenance and snow removal services through focused effort recently, more than quadrupling revenue in that line of business in the last three years.”

CASE Unveils “Project Zeus” — the all-new 580 EV — the Industry’s First Fully Electric Backhoe Loader

CASE Construction Equipment introduces “Project Zeus” — the 580 EV (Electric Vehicle), the construction industry’s first fully electric backhoe loader. The power and performance of the 580 EV is equivalent to other diesel-powered backhoes in the CASE product line and provides considerably lower daily operating costs while also producing zero emissions — a motivating factor for utility and government contractors incentivized to work with equipment that leverages alternative fuels and lowers emissions.

City governments and municipalities will also benefit from the elimination of emissions for working in urban environments and close to other buildings/people, as well as the reduced noise generated by the equipment.

CASE Showcases Methane-Powered Concept Wheel Loader, ProjectTETRA, at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020

CASE Construction Equipment is featuring the methane-powered ProjectTETRA wheel loader at CONEXPO/CON-AGG 2020, highlighting the manufacturer’s commitment to sustainability through alternative propulsion solutions. It is presented at the show alongside the industry’s first fully electric backhoe loader, the CASE 580 EV — showcasing a commitment to expanding alternative fuel solutions for equipment beyond compact machines to heavy equipment.

ProjectTETRA was first introduced at Bauma 2019, taking its name from the Greek number four, which refers to both the four hydrogen atoms present in the chemical formula for methane, as well as the tetrahedron shape of the methane molecule.

CASE Previews New Technology Enhancements for G Series Wheel Loaders

CASE Construction Equipment previewed all new enhancements at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020 to its G Series wheel loaders that feature increased technology to improve production and the overall operating experience. These latest enhancements (standard or optionally fit based on feature) are anchored by a large touchscreen display that serves as the command center for the new integrated onboard payload system, control customizations, improved telematics and streamlined operating parameters.

“Wheel loaders are well-suited to incremental improvements in technology and operation that achieve considerable cost savings and productivity gains,” says Andrew Dargatz, product marketing manager, CASE. “The technology advances incorporated into G Series wheel loaders through the new operator interface simplify operation, streamline equipment reporting and maintenance activities, and give each operator more tools to improve overall performance and efficiency.”

CASE Highlights Accessibility and Workforce Inclusivity with Accessible Backhoe Loader at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020

CASE Construction Equipment showcased its new accessible backhoe loader at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020, designed to support workforce inclusivity and provide operators of all mobility levels with an opportunity to work in construction equipment operation.

The machine features a purpose-built elevator and accessories that allow the operator to be elevated into the cab and workstation. The operator positions the elevator chair near the ground via a pair of external joysticks in a manner that allows them to easily transfer into the seat. Those same joysticks then raise the operator into the cab where they transition into the backhoe seat. The chair is then tucked away into a position that does not obstruct machine operation.

CASE Launches All-New B Series Compact Track Loaders and Skid Steers

“CASE CTLs and skid steers are enhanced to deliver a completely new and intuitive operating experience while also standing up to the rigors of heavy earthmoving and attachment use,” says George Mac Intyre, product manager for compact equipment, CASE. “The B Series retains the styling of previous CASE loaders, yet critical operational systems have been re-engineered for greater performance, and fully integrated with new control and operator interfaces to give contractors a powerful match of productivity, efficiency and convenience.”
