CASE 721G Waste Handler Reduces Downtime and Fuel Costs, and Improves Sustainability for Northeast Cartage

At Northeast Cartage LLC, a single stream recycling operation in northeast Pennsylvania, the core goal is to run a clean operation with minimal environmental impact. Every truckload of recyclable waste arrives as a jumbled mass of cardboard, paper, various types of cans and metals, and plastic and glass containers.

The job of Northeast Cartage is to take those collected materials, separate them and convert them into a saleable product. The first piece of equipment to handle the material that comes into the facility is the CASE 721G waste handler, a specially outfitted and guarded wheel loader designed for use in waste and recycling applications.

Sonsray Machinery Supports Team Rubicon Wildland Fire Cleanup in Las Vegas

CASE Construction Equipment dealer Sonsray Machinery donated the use of a CASE TV380 compact track loader for a wildland fire and wind damage response operation in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs is a 2,040-acre park on the north side of Las Vegas. Centered around a group of small natural lakes, this oasis in the Mojave Desert is a popular outdoor recreation spot for travelers and local residents. The easternmost area of the park is a wooded area with established trails which has been plagued with reoccurring wildfires and subsequent damage from windstorms. Team Rubicon deployed a limited-scale disaster response task force as a follow-up to an initial operation that took place in 2018.

Kelpe Contracting — In Service to Others

All you need to know about Tom Kelpe can be summed up by a story from his childhood. His father, Claude Howard Kelpe, dug the foundation for an addition to their modest home — by hand — at about the same time that the first backhoe loaders were hitting the market. When Claude started Kelpe Contracting in 1960, and took ownership of his first backhoe, he wanted to help ease that labor for others. It made an impression on his son who now runs the family business almost 60 years later.

“His philosophy was: ‘I am doing this as a service to the people,’” says Tom Kelpe, son of Claude Kelpe. “And that’s still what we do. We will do a $100 job and we’ll do a $10 million job. We will take care of you. We are service-oriented.”

He continues to serve his community today as a Wisconsin State Trooper.

Miller-Bradford & Risberg Supports Team Rubicon in Response to Severe Storm Damage in Northeast Wisconsin

CASE Construction Equipment dealer Miller-Bradford & Risberg supported Team Rubicon’s second wave of response to severe storms that originally hit the area in July 2019, including five tornadoes, that caused severe damage across Langlade and Oconto Counties in northeast Wisconsin.

The severe storms and tornadoes uprooted or snapped tens of thousands of trees, devastating wide swaths of forest land. Areas sustaining significant damage included recreational areas such as ATV and snowmobile trails that are important to the tourism economy in the area — especially throughout the winter. During the 10-day operation, 76 Team Rubicon volunteers worked to clear dozens of miles of recreational trails, many of which were completely unpassable.
