Clay County, West Virginia Wins CASE Dire States Grant

CASE Construction Equipment has announced Clay County, West Virginia as the winner of the 2021 Dire States Grant. Representatives of the county will receive $25,000 in free equipment rental from CASE that will be supported locally by State Equipment

Clay County was awarded the grant to repair grounds and facilities that were initially damaged in heavy flooding in June 2016. More than 500 homes were destroyed in that event, and local resources that provided food and services to residents have been closed due to ongoing water and sewer issues. This includes the recent closing of the local Nutrition Center, as well as the continued flooding of local parks and recreational areas. The ongoing fallout has been particularly hard on the region, with business closings and no grocery store currently open in the county. FEMA estimated at the time that the county sustained more than $8.5 million in roadway damage.

Chapin, South Carolina Wins 2019 Dire States Grant for East Chapin Sewer Force Main Project

CASE Construction Equipment has awarded the $25,000 Dire States Equipment Grant to Chapin, South Carolina for the East Chapin Sewer Force Main Project. The project will install a new parallel force main to relieve pressures in the service area on the existing sewer force main and pump stations. The additional force main will provide capacity to reroute sewer flow to significantly reduce the likelihood of future overflows that may affect the drinking water of approximately 130,000 drinking water customers in area.

The CASE Dire States Grant gives Chapin $25,000 in free equipment rental for the project through local CASE dealer Hills Machinery. The project will also mitigate other storm- and wastewater challenges for the municipality, and create more capacity for additional business development in the town. Bidding on the project will take place in the next few months, with work expected to begin later in 2019.

Quincy Township, Pennsylvania Wins 2017 Dire States Grant for Rehab of Old Forge Bridge

CASE Construction Equipment has awarded the $25,000 Dire States Equipment Grant to Quincy Township, Pennsylvania for replacement/repair work on the Old Forge Bridge. The bridge weight limits have been lowered each of the last five years due to its deteriorating condition, risking access to residents, as well as fire departments, ambulances, police and school busses. The neighboring region of South Mountain also hosts a number of camps and facilities – including a Pennsylvania National Guard training center – that relies on access to the region from the bridge.

The 2017 grant, launched at CONEXPO/CON-AGG 2017, will provide the township with $25,000 in free equipment rental for the project through CASE dealer Groff Tractor.
