Randall Community Water District Adds 18,000 Linear Feet of 24-Inch Water Pipeline

Recently named Rural Water System of the Year by the South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems, Randall Community Water District serves customers in portions of Aurora, Bon Homme, Brule, Douglas and Hutchinson counties in southeastern South Dakota. It also supplies water to Armour, Corsica, Delmont, Geddes, Lake Andes, Pickstown, Platte, Ravinia, Wagner, Dante, as well as the Yankton Sioux Tribe, Aurora-Brule Rural Water and Davison Rural Water Districts.

Scott Pick, general manager, Randall Community Water District (RCWD), explains the scope of their growing service area. “We serve 2,800 taps—that’d be individual households, rural farms, rural pastures, cabin taps, and we serve every bulk customer,” Pick says. “And we also serve two rural water districts. So in a year’s time, we’ll serve about a billion gallons of water to this area.”

Underground Utility Contractor Anchors Excavator Fleet with CASE CX210D

Phoenix is the kind of environment that manufacturers have in mind when they test heavy equipment — temperatures above 100 degrees, tough digging conditions, and a housing market that has rebounded and is keeping contractors and their equipment busy 24/7.

The Universal Group is an underground utilities contractor in Phoenix that is benefiting from the current state of commercial, non-residential and residential building construction in the market. The company specializes in utility excavation – both dry and wet – and runs a fleet of five CASE CX210D excavators supported by local CASE dealer Titan Machinery.

Titan Machinery Donates Equipment to Team Rubicon for Habitat Development Project at DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge

CASE Construction Equipment dealer Titan Machinery donated the use of two excavators to Team Rubicon for a service project and training event at the DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge in Iowa and Nebraska. The excavators—a CX210C and CX250D—were used to remove several levees and water culverts as part of a wetland habitat development project.

Managed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the 8,362-acre refuge is located along the Missouri River floodplain and provides essential habitat for resident, migratory and endangered species. Team Rubicon has a partnership with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to create training opportunities for their volunteers, and the organization has worked on several habitat management and mitigation projects in refuges all over the United States.
